They're even in Scotland!!

During the visit with the grandkids in Scotland, I had the opportunity to attend a car show with my son.  Finding out about the event was purely accidental: we did a weekend trip to Loch Ness, and I found a brochure about a historical house located along our return trip.  Reading the listing of events to be held there, there was a listing for the car show (which would be held the next weekend!).

Along with the usual variety of British autos (Jag, Rolls, Morris), we also spotted a few nice US rigs (Trans Am, Mustang) and --to my surprise!-- no less than THREE Volkswagens.  I got to talk with the owners, shared my project with them --to which they were fairly impressed-- and learned the good, bad and ugly realities of owning a VW in northeastern Scotland.  I also heard that there was only ONE guy with a Ghia running around the Aberdeen area; word is it's in pristine condition... and the owner spent a fortune to get it and keep it that way (not an easy trick in an oceanside town that uses salt for winter roads).  Who knows?  If my wife has her way, there may be ANOTHER Ghia running around there in a couple of years...
